Multi cultural entertainment..we bring Polynesia to you!

Multi cultural entertainment..Polynesian hula shows are performed all around the world and are used as a way of highlighting South Pacific cultures. I've found that a good polynesian show consists of the following:

* graceful flowing movements from Tongan and Hawaii culture

* the enticing pulse of the Cook Island and Tahitians drums

* the aggressive war dances of maori and Fijians and

* the rhythmic beats of Niue, Samoa and Tokelau

Shows are based on customer requirements for their functions . The information the Project Manager receives from the client is vital and valuable to the success of the show. The information passed on to the Performing Arts Leader from the Project Manager, helps with the creation of a multi cultural entertainment package, that will thrill and leave the guests wanting more.

Entertainment

This creation will combine the multi cultural entertainment diversities that Soifua Village Polynesia Performing Arts can provide, whether the show is 10 - 15 minutes or 1 hour long.

A typical Polynesian multi cultural entertainment show depending on the clients request could consist of:

maybe a Maori Powhiri (which is a welcome)

- karanga (call by a woman to welcome) followed by - Haka (just like the NZ All Black rugby team)

Or

A chant (Pee) from a Cook Island warrior, couch shell sounding in the back ground followed by hula dance drumming music

Or

A short drumming medley from the drummers (Cook islands, Tahitian) to prepare the guests(wake them up) for whats to come

Or

maybe they would like leis given to guest as they arrive with a Tuoro (Cook Island welcome) or a multi cultural entertainment welcome combining Maori, Cook Island, Samaon etc

then

The Performing Arts Leader will give a small introduction regarding who the group is and welcome guest on behalf of the function organisers, and give a very, very small hint of what to expect from the show, but will leave it to their imagination

Show time..

Let us take you on a small journey of the pacific, where the sultry hand movements, and hip sway motion of beautiful maidens hypnotize you with an action song and dance from the Cook Islands

Now we call upon our warriors for an action / drum dance (puaikura-chant strong warrior movements) also from the Cook Islands. Warriors just wearing a maro (small loin cloth), slow to medium movements to full on knee knocking, jumping, powerful hula drum dancing

And from Samoa a female action song, T-a-l-o-f-a.. with strong but graceful movements, with hand claps, with a glide movement (se'e) on thier feet across the floor, like they are floating on air. to sitting down for slap dance (hand claps, and hand cheer leading style movements), straight and sharp

Followed by Samoan warriors with their traditional version of the slap dance, with loud shouting calls of enthusiasm and enjoyment, as they slap their bare skin

A-L-O-H-A.. from the beautiful island paradise of Hawaii, we bring you beautiful wahine (woman) action song and dance (po hani kea), with sensual, soft, silky motions. But wait the warriors also show their soft but firm presence in a duet with the wahine

Now from the shores of Tahiti a solo hula action song / drum dance from a beautiful island princess. Her movements and smile tantalise on lookers, and the speed of the drummers drum shows her versatility with her hip sway hula dance action

And now the excitment starts to rise as both wahine and warrior go full throttle with Cook Island, Tahitian hula drum dances. Hip shaking, knee knocking stylish movements, that will leave you breathless, but wanting more. They blend their body movement in a way that complements both styles of female and male actions

Now its your turn..the time has come for you to shake those hips and knock those knees, now you can be part of somethings incredible. The Performing Arts Leader sends the performers into the audience to get..you.

The Performing Arts Leader ends the show thanking the guests and the function organisers for chosening our company to give them a taste of polynesia in their back yard..final drum beats..The End

This is just one type of multi cultural entertainment corporate show that we at Soifua Village Polynesia can provide for functions and events, to you the client. Please fill in the question and information box in the corporate entertainmentsection of, entertainment, in hula-with-me.com..we will be waiting with our take of multi cultural entertainment just for you. Until the sounds of the drum's beat and echo across the sky, and the swaying hip and hand movements of island maidens draw you nearer and nearer..
