Hula dancing family, your path way to your hula traditions

Hula dancing family is a family that is bound in traditional culture and hula dancing performances in the ancient ways. Family values and bonds are as strong as they were in the past and more so now with hula families and their culture.

As I was growing up in a palagi society as a young Polynesian fair skinned male, I was taught the ways of my culture through an expert .. ” my Mum”. Experience is something that is gathered over years of living and growing, and facing the challenges that come with the blending of different minorities, and over coming the cultural walls that may separate you from them

Our Polynesian culture is strong because of our powerful family values and our Christian beliefs that we have been given by our parents, and their parents as a map to our future. There are many different roads on this map that lead to different destinations, but they all have the same out come .. "FAMILY".

Hula dancing family that is what myself and my daughters are, even though we were not born in the same country as my parents, I was still taught the cultural values they were taught, and I pass them on to my family as much as I can, but I am lucky I can always call the expert “my Mum” to share with her grandchildren more of what has made her the role model that me and their aunty and uncles look up to.

We enjoy hula dance practise with our extended hula family and performing in hula shows, it gives us that chance to share some of our Polynesian culture and showcase our expert hula performers. We may come from different pacific islands but we are as one family in Soifua Village Polynesia and that family strength is what gives us that added advantage for putting on a complete and professional entertaining extravaganza.
